Allform Parts

As mentioned above, the Allform sofa is modular and it’s only the number of parts and finishes that varies between each sofa. All parts are manufactured in the USA and sourced globally.

Assembly of the Allforms sofa

The part list includes:

  • Frame
  • Support
  • Cushions
  • Legs
  • Arms

The Frame

Material: kiln-dried laminated hardwood

Allform sofa - hardwood frame

Each Allform sofas start with a hardwood frame. They use an engineered blend of maple and poplar hardwoods to create the frame, which serves as the base for the rest of the construction.

The Support

Material: tempered steel suspension grid system

The Cushions

Material: CertiPur-US certified foam and fiber

Allform seat cushion - foam support

The seat cushion uses a high-grade polyfoam, which is a solid foam for support and comfort. It also has an anti-shifting encasement to help keep its shape and avoid sagging. The support foam is approx. 5″ thick polyfoam with ~1″ poly fiber wrapper around the foam for comfort.

Polyfoam back cushion material

The back cushion is made of a blend of looser foam and fiber. Channeling is used on the back cushions to help keep the foam evenly distributed across the cushion.

The Legs

The legs on the Allform come in three different finishes—natural, walnut, or espresso. Each leg screws into the base of the sofa through a threaded connection and has a small plastic foot cap at the end to resist scratches.

The Arms

All Allform sofas have straight arms covered in the same fabric and foam / fiber as the rest of the sofa. They are slightly padded.

Is the AllForm sofa comfortable?

Overall, the Allform sofa has a nice blend of balance and support vs. comfort. It’s on the firmer side, but given how thin it is I think that’s perfectly fine.

Is the Allforms sofa comfortable?

It has a ~1”ish thick layer of polyester fiber on top and bottom of the seat cushions, which give it a good degree of pressure relief and softens the edge of the foam.

When sitting down on this sofa, I felt a good degree of response and bounce. It’s not the type of couch you’ll get “stuck” down in. Since it is a little on the firmer side you can avoid getting too enveloped by the materials, which could lead to feeling warm.

Despite the slight degree of firmness, it’s a pleasant sofa to sit or lie on. In addition, it’s surprisingly long (even in just the 3-seat version). At 6″1′ I could fully stretch out without touching the arms.

How to Assemble an Allform sofa?

Assembly Time: 35-40 mintues

As a modular sofa, the Allform will need to be assembled upon arrival. No white glove or premier shipping services here.

Shipping is fast, free, and requires you to do a little lifting. Here’s the basic steps you’ll need to follow:

  1. Unbox all the parts
  2. Assemble your benches
  3. Assemble your seats
  4. Attach the arms
  5. Build the corners
  6. Attach the corners
  7. Attach the benches
Arms and leg detail on the Allform sofa

Overall assembly was pretty easy. Allform system is a toolless. You can put the entire thing together with just a knife to unbox the packages.

We had one issue getting the pin connectors to connect between the arms and the bench. Because we didn’t get the pin connector fully inserted properly the base plate wouldn’t quite line up.

Even with it adjusted to get the base plate attached, when we finished assembly we noticed it wasn’t level.

Allform Sofa review

Ultimately, we needed to reset the connector pin, which resolved both the base plate and level issue. So keep that in mind while you’re assembling.

Assembly for the Allform sofa took about around 35 minutes with 2 people. Two people definitely make it easier so I would recommend that if you have the manpower available.
