Roborock Reviews: S5 vs. E3 vs. E2 vs. C1

Roborock is a robot manufacturer that first got their start by building the first generation Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum.

Since then, they have continued to build robots for Xiaomi Mi, while also expanding their own product line.

Because of their relationship with Xiaomi Mi many of their robot vacuum models are incorrectly identified when users are shopping.

This brief comparison aims to bring a little clarity to the Roborock S5 vs. E3 vs. E2 vs. C1 models.

Roborock Sub-Models

You will see a variety of confusing sub-models out in the wild. However, these aren’t as complex as they may seem.

Numbers that fall after the model series number indicate other features about the vacuum. Typically, the color.

For example, the Roborock C10 means it’s a Roborock C1. The 0 means it is the white color

Are Xiaomi Mi and Roborock The Same?

Roborock built the first generation Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum for Xiaomi. Presumably, they are building others for Xiaomi Mi as well.

However, Xiaomi Mi and Roborock are not the same company.

Xiaomi Mi does not own Roborock. However, Xiaomi is an investor in Roborock and they have a working relationship with each other.

Roborock S5

The S5 is Roborock’s highest-end and flagship model. It’s their most expensive robot using laser navigation, advanced mapping, and zone cleaning.

It’s also able to clean the largest area at over 200 squared meters.

Many times, the Roborock S5 is incorrectly identified as the Xiaomi Mi 2nd generation robot vacuum. However, this is not correct. It is its own standalone model built and sold by Roborock.

Models / colors:

  • Available in white, rose gold, and black.
  • Always referred to as the Roborock S5

Roborock E3

The Roborock E3 is the 2nd best robot vacuum that Roborock offers. It uses the standard bump-and-continue approach to navigation that you see in most robot vacuums.

Roborock E35 aka Roborock Xiaowa Plus

It’s able to clean areas 150-200 squared meters.

This model is also referred to as the Xiaowa Plus or Roborock Xiaowa Plus.

Models / colors:

  • Only available in one color, dark grey.
  • Roborock E35 – normal E3 model, dark grey color

See our Roborock E3 review here.

Roborock E2

The Roborock E2 model is similar to the Roborock E3.

The only notable difference is it’s only able to clean 120-150 squared meters, due to a notably smaller battery (only 2,600 mAh vs. the E3’s 5,200 mAh).

This model is also referred to as the Xiaowa or Roborock Xiaowa.

Models / colors:

  • Available in white and dark grey
  • Roborock E20 – normal E2 model, white color
  • Roborock E25 – normal E2 model, dark grey color

Roborock C1

The Roborock C1 is Roborock’s least expensive robot vacuum, but also one of the best values.

It’s one of the best Roomba alternatives, in our opinion.

It is also referred to as the Xiaowa Lite or Roborock Xiaowa Lite.

Models / colors:

  • Only available in one color, white.
  • Roborock C10 – normal C1 model, white color
