Roborock Sub-Models

You will see a variety of confusing sub-models out in the wild. However, these aren’t as complex as they may seem.

Numbers that fall after the model series number indicate other features about the vacuum. Typically, the color.

For example, the Roborock C10 means it’s a Roborock C1. The 0 means it is the white color

Are Xiaomi Mi and Roborock The Same?

Roborock built the first generation Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum for Xiaomi. Presumably, they are building others for Xiaomi Mi as well.

However, Xiaomi Mi and Roborock are not the same company.

Xiaomi Mi does not own Roborock. However, Xiaomi is an investor in Roborock and they have a working relationship with each other.

Roborock S6

The S6 is Roborock’s most recent robot vacuum launch and the best robot vacuum they make. It has all of the same features as the Roborock S5, but is 50% quieter and has a more advanced navigation system.

The S6 can run for up to 150 minutes and can clean up to 2,700 square feet.

It uses a 2-in-1 design that both vacuum and / or mop (same as the E2 and S5).

Models / colors:

  • Available in white, black gloss, and rose gold
  • Always referred to as Roborock S6

See our Roborock S6 review here.

Roborock S5

The S5 is Roborock’s 2nd highest-end and flagship model. It’s an advanced robot using laser navigation, advanced mapping, and zone cleaning.

It’s also able to clean the largest area at over 200 squared meters.

Many times, the Roborock S5 is incorrectly identified as the Xiaomi Mi 2nd generation robot vacuum. However, this is not correct. It is its own standalone model built and sold by Roborock.

Models / colors:

  • Available in white, rose gold, and black.
  • Always referred to as the Roborock S5

See our Roborock S5 review here.

Roborock S5 Max

The Roborock S5 Max launched in late 2019. As the name suggests, it’s an upgraded version of the Roborock S5.

It has all the same features of the S5, but expands with a high-capacity water tank, more precise water management, improved mopping, and no go zones for both vacuuming and mopping.

Like the S5, the S5 Max can vacuum for 200 sq. meters (2,600 sq. ft).

Models / colors:

  • Available in black
  • Always referred to as the Roborock S5 Max

Roborock S4

The Roborock S4 launched September 23, 2019. It’s designed to be a sweet spot between price and performance, sitting in between Roborock’s budget E model line up and the more expensive S5 and S6.

The S4 is able to clean spaces around 2,700 square feet.

Roborock’s S4 uses a new drive-train system that allows it to drive both forward and backward. This improvement allows it to more easily escape from obstructions and obstacles.

In our cleaning tests its performance was excellent, scoring an average of 96%.

Models / colors:

  • Black gloss
  • Always referred to as the Roborock S4

Roborock E35

The Roborock E35 is a mid-range robot vacuum that Roborock offers. It uses the standard bump-and-continue approach to navigation that you see in most robot vacuums.

Roborock E35 aka Roborock Xiaowa Plus
Roborock E35 aka Roborock Xiaowa Plus

It’s able to clean areas 150-200 squared meters.

This model is also referred to as the Xiaowa Plus or Roborock Xiaowa Plus.

Models / colors:

  • Only available in one color, dark grey.
  • Roborock E35 – normal E3 model, dark grey color

See our Roborock E35 review here.

Roborock E25

The Roborock E25 model is similar to the Roborock E35.

Roborock E2 aka Roborock Xiaowa
Roborock E2 aka Roborock Xiaowa

The only notable difference is it’s only able to clean 120-150 squared meters, due to a notably smaller battery (only 2,600 mAh vs. the E3’s 5,200 mAh).

This model is also referred to as the Xiaowa or Roborock Xiaowa.

Models / colors:

  • Available in white and dark grey
  • Roborock E20 – normal E2 model, white color
  • Roborock E25 – normal E2 model, dark grey color

See our Roborock E25 review here.

Roborock C10

The Roborock C10 is Roborock’s least expensive robot vacuum, but also one of the best values.

It’s one of the best Roomba alternatives, in our opinion.

It is also referred to as the Xiaowa Lite or Roborock Xiaowa Lite.

  • Roborock C10 – normal C1 model, white color

  1. Thanks for the quick response. I went with S4. My place has mostly hard floor but I wanted to have a more robust and reliable bot which has greater autonomy.
I just checked and the E35 has also gone up for sale and this has put me in a tricky situation.

    • I think that’s makes sense and what I would have personally done also in your situation. Better to be a master of one thing and a jack of all trades.

  2. Awesome article. I have a quick question.
Would you recommend E25 or S4? I really like the mopping but is it worth downgrading the vacuum?
    Thanks for your time.

    • Definitely the S4.

While the mopping attachment on the E25 is nice, it’s definitely not a replacement for a mop. Standalone robot mops are notably better, in my view.

I would much rather have a great robot vacuum in the S4 than the the E25. The only exception might be if you have 70%+ hard surface floors in your home. Otherwise, go S4.

  3. Great article 🙂
I have the older v2 at the office and want something with equivalent functionality.
Does that mean I should get the s5 or s6?

    • I’m not sure what the V2 model is that you’re referring to.

But I would guess the S5 and S6 are notable steps up in terms of functionality (probably in many areas). The S6 of course is a little more advanced than the S5, but both the S5 and S6 are exceptional robots in their own right.

    • Do you have a link from the manufacturer that says that?

From what we’ve seen it’s 480 ml, same as the S5 and S6.
