Purification Performance
There are 3 different versions of the HealthPro: the HealthPro, the HealthPro Plus, and the HealthPro Compact. We tested the HealthPro Plus in our studio.
For our purification test, we place the IQAir HealthPro Plus in a medium sized room (~14’x10’) in our office. We then take a baseline measurement of the air quality using the Temtop LKC-1000S+ professional air quality detector.
We then let the air purifier run for 1 hour at the highest fan speed. Next, we take an additional measurement of the air quality and compare the post-run data to the baseline to determine the performance of the IQAir HealthPro Plus.
Starting Baseline
- PM2.5: 13.0
- PM10: 23.4
- Particles: 1919
- AQI: 53
After 1 Hour
- PM2.5: 0.1
- PM10: 0.1
- Particles: 49
- AQI: 1
Our data comparison showed the IQAir HealthPro Plus was able to remove 97.4% of airborne particulates and improve the PM2.5 air quality by 99.2%.
This is excellent performance from the HealthPro Plus. In general, we are looking for the 4 key data points we measure to be as close to 0 as possible.
Below, we’ve included information on the testing criteria and what defines good vs. bad air quality.
The Filters
The IQAir HealthPro has a unique method of accessing the filters.
- You detach the sides from the top
- Remove the top lid
- Access filters
From there the various filters are stacked on top of each other vertically. These include:
- Pre-filter
- Activated carbon filter
- HEPA
The pre-filter sits on the bottom and captures the larger airborne particulates like hair or dust.
Next, the carbon filter, or what they call the V5 Cell, traps VOC’s, gasses, and odors.
Finally, the HEPA filter captures airborne particulates as small as 0.3 microns and acts as the main line of defense.
Noise Test
To measure the noise levels of the IQAir HealthPro Plus, we use a sound meter app. We set the air purifier up, run it on each power setting, and measure the generated noise from about 3’ away.
Our results showed the following decibel levels from each mode.
Level 1
29.6 dB
Level 4
46.3 dB
Level 6
56.2 dB
We found the noise range of the IQAir HealthPro Plus to be from 29 – 57 dB.
While it lacks a dedicated sleep mode, it should be quiet enough on the lowest power setting at 29.6 dB.
Common noise levels:
- 20 dB – rustling leaves
- 30 dB – whisper
- 40 dB – quiet library, babbling brook
- 50 dB – refrigerator, moderate rainfall
- 60 dB – normal conversation, dishwashers
- 70 dB – traffic, showers
- 80 dB – alarm clock, telephone dial tone
Usability Tests
Overall usability for the HealthPro was good. While it lacks app connectivity, it comes with a remote control, has a wide range of features, and stands on wheels.
Setup
Setup can take some time or it could be relatively quick. It just depends how much you want to do.
- Here’s what comes in the box:
- HealthPro
- Pre-filter (pre-installed)
- V5 Cell filter (pre-installed)
- HEPA filter (pre-installed)
- Wheel mounting brackets (2x)
- Wheels (4x)
- Remote
- Power cord
- Manuals
To get the IQAir HealthPro Plus running you need to unbox the device and plug in the power cord. From there HealthPro is ready to clean your air.
However, you can attach wheels to make it easier to move around, and spend some time in the menus to complete the setup. These steps aren’t necessary to have the device run, but they greatly enhance the user experience.
Controls & App
As mentioned previously, there is no app connectivity with the HealthPro. However, there are still robust controls and key features that improve usability.
There are 4 buttons on top:
- Power
- Arrow
- Menu
- Enter
Each of these buttons have multiple functions that allow you to navigate through the settings visible on the LCD display.
The power button will turn on/off the device and the arrow button can adjust the fan speed, while all of the buttons will be used in the menus.
These menus give you access to:
- Remaining filter life
- Setting timer
- Setting day-of-week timer
- Set fan speed while timer is on
- Set fan speed while timer is off
- Adjust day & time
- Adjust the CFMs
- Change displayed language
- Check model
In addition, it comes with a remote for wireless control.
The remote can adjust the fan speed to a specific setting, turn on/off the air purifier, and turn on/off a timer. It has less control than the on-board buttons, but still enough to do what you need to.
Maintenance
Maintenance is pretty standard for a HEPA air purifier. You will need to replace the filters, which is needed every 6-12 months for the HEPA and every 12 months for the carbon.
Of course the exact time depends on your environment and usage.
Luckily, there is an indicator light and menu options that show when the filter needs to be replaced.
Size & Dimensions
In terms of size, the IQAir HealthPro Plus is on the larger end, but it covers a larger area. It covers 1125 sq. ft. with a CADR of 300 CFM. That is more than enough for any large room or even full homes.
Here are the exact dimensions of the IQAir HealthPro Plus:
- Length – 16″
- Width – 15”
- Height – 28”
- Weight – 35 lbs.
While installing the wheels is optional, I would recommend installing them as it makes it easier to move the device around.

The HealthPro is the standard model. It is similar to size and shape as the Plus, but lacks the V5 Cell carbon filter. The HealthPro also has a slightly higher CADR at 330 CFM.
If you want the carbon filtration, you will need to get the HealthPro Plus, which we tested.
The HealthPro Compact is the smallest version of the series. It lacks a carbon filter, but only weighs 26 lbs.
