Performance Tests
We performed 4 different tests on the Dyson V15, V11, V10, Samsung Jet 90, and LG CordZero to measure different performance factors. Here are the tests we conducted:
- Cleaning Test
- Run Time Test
- Noise Test
- Usability Test
We were not able to test the Jet 75, however, it is effectively identical to the Jet 90. They are both identical in terms of:
- 60 minute run time
- 200 AW of suction
- 0.8L dust bin capacity
- HEPA filtration system
The main difference between the two models are the included attachments and base.
Additionally, we were able to perform another 2 tests on the Dyson V15, V11, V10, and LG CordZero. These include:
- Long hair test
- Pet fur test

The Dyson V15 achieved excellent scores removing 99-100% of all debris across all 3 floor types.
With the Fluffy cleaning head, the Dyson V15 was able to remove 100% of the all debris. The Fluffy head is a soft brushroll designed for hardwood floors.
The Dyson V15 didn’t have notable issues with cleaning on the various floor types. However, we did notice that with the suction on Turbo (the maximum suction power) and the front seal gates fully lowered, the brushroll would create too much down force and stop spinning.
This could have just been an issue with our flooring, but we were able to adjust settings and successfully continue cleaning.

Even though it is the oldest model Dyson’s V series in this comparison, the V10 still had great performance. It had cleaning scores in the 99-100% range, just like the V15 and V11.
When shooting our review video, we noticed that when quickly cleaning our largest debris cereal on hardwood floor, it would occasionally clog. We were not able to replicate this consistently but we recommend taking your time cleaning up larger debris with the V10.
Otherwise, the V10 showed nearly perfect performance and was able to manage all scenarios well.

As stated previously, the Jet 90 and Jet 75 are functionally identical, so we only tested the Jet 90.
The Jet 90 achieved excellent cleaning scores during our tests. It had scores in the 97-100% range across all 3 floor types.
When we started the tests on hardwood floors, the Jet 90 clogged while removing the cereal. However, we were able to adjust the suction higher and the Jet 90 handled it no problem.
Beyond that, the only other notable point of struggle was on low pile carpet. The Jet 90 only removed 88% of the sugar. This is a common issue among stick vacuums, but it is something to keep in mind.
Overall, the Samsung Jet 90 performed well having an overall score of 98%. We expect similar performance from the Jet 75 as well.

The main reason the CordZero didn’t receive as high of scores as the other vacuums was due to clogging issues we had during cleaning. The CordZero managed the smaller debris types well, however, it really struggled with cereal.
During our testing, the cereal would clog in the neck of the vacuum before entering the dust bin. After turning off the power, the vacuum would spit the cereal back onto the testing lane. While clogging is common among stick vacuums, it still affects performance.
Although, if you remove cereal from the equation then the CordZero performed notably better. The performance scores below reflect the total debris by weight removed if you exclude cereal.

The CordZero was successfully able to remove all small debris types, excluding cereal. We experienced this clogging on all floor types, to varying degrees.
As you can see in the before and after photos, the CordZero was able to remove the majority of the smaller debris, and left mostly cereal behind.

Run Time Test
The run time for each vacuum can vary depending on the suction mode. All of the vacuums have 3 power modes.
- Dyson calls their modes: eco, auto, and boost
- Samsung calls their modes: low, medium, and max
- LG calls theirs: normal, power, and turbo
For our tests, we used a single battery and had the standard motorized cleaning head attached.
Suction Mode | V15 run time | V11 run time | V10 run time | Jet 90 / 75 run time | CordZero run time |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Low | 68:30 mins. | 84:45 mins. | 49:40 mins. | 43:30 mins. | 56:10 mins. |
Normal | 45:30 mins. | 47:40 mins. | 26:50 mins. | 24:00 mins. | 29:06 mins. |
Max | 08:55 mins. | 07:30 mins. | 05:30 mins. | 10:00 mins. | 07:11 mins. |
Max. Run Time:* | 60 mins. | 60 mins. | 60 mins | 60 mins. | 60 mins. |
*This max. time is the number listed by the manufacturer.
Because the Jet 90 and Jet 75 are functionally identical, we expect the same run times from the Jet 75.
All that being said, the vacuum with the longest run time is the V11 with a time of ~85 mins. However, the CordZero does come with another battery for extended use. This effectively doubles the run time, as this battery can be charged simultaneously as you clean.
Regardless, if you make sure to charge the vacuum between uses, all of these run times should be adequate.
Noise Test
For the noise test, we measure how loud each vacuum is while running on the various modes. We measure the vacuum from about ~3 feet away with a sound meter.
Suction Mode | V15 | V11 | V10 | Jet 90 / 75 | CordZero |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Low | 71 dB | 70 dB | 75 dB | 69 dB | 55 dB |
Normal | 74 dB | 75 dB | 77 dB | 72 dB | 58 dB |
Max | 76 dB | 78 dB | 80 dB | 74 dB | 63 dB |
Auto Empty* | NA | NA | NA | NA | 66 dB |
*This is only applicable to the LG CordZero
While noise is a minor thing overall, less noise may be preferential to some. For those looking for a quieter vacuum, the CordZero had the lowest results. During testing, it generated noise in the 55-66 dB range, which is similar to the hum of a refrigerator or a running dishwasher.
On the other hand The Dyson vacuums were slightly louder and the Jet vacuums fell in the middle of the road. Generally, I would expect similar levels of noise generated by the different vacuums.
Common noise levels:
- 20 dB – rustling leaves
- 30 dB – whisper
- 40 dB – quiet library, babbling brook
- 50 dB – refrigerator, moderate rainfall
- 60 dB – normal conversation, dishwashers
- 70 dB – traffic, showers
- 80 dB – alarm clock, telephone dial tone
Usability Test
While the vacuums come from different brands, they are similar in usability. They are all simple to set up, with click-in attachments and simple controls. Additionally, they all can be set with the extension wand or used in handheld mode.
In either mode, the vacuums are compatible with all included attachments. They are easy to maneuver due to their ability to take tight corners, and lay nearly flat on the ground.
Overall, you can expect a similar cleaning experience regardless of the vacuum. However, there are some notable differences which can affect usability.
Dyson V15 Usability
With the V15 being the latest stick vacuum from Dyson, it has some of the more unique features in the V series.
- Real time cleaning information
- Automatic suction adjustment
- Dust bin
The vacuum includes sensors that uses a Piezo Sensor to detect and categorize the various particles being cleaned. All of this information is available on the digital display, and the V15 will automatically adjust the suction accordingly.
The screen will also give you available run time information, and display what suction mode you are currently using.
Additionally, the Dyson V15 has the “point-and-shoot” style dust bin unique to the Dyson. This allows you to remove the extension stick, and quickly empty the dust bin as needed.
Dyson V11 Usability
The V11 includes a lot of the same features as the newer V15. It has:
- Automatic suction adjustment
- Dust bin
Just like the V15 the V11 can automatically adjust the suction as needed, however, it reacts to the floor type rather than the incoming particles. Additionally, it doesn’t display the information about what particles are being cleaned.
But it still can automatically adjust the suction while cleaning, which is a nice addition.
The V11 also has the Dyson “point-and-shoot” style dust bin. It works the same way as the V15 and makes hygienic cleaning more accessible.
Dyson V10 Usability
While the Dyson V10 is the oldest of the V models, it still has excellent cleaning performance, and offers a range of usability features.
- Control Switch
- Dust bin
Unlike the newer Dyson models, which use a button on top to change the modes, the V10 uses a moving switch. You can move it up and down as needed to adjust the suction mode of the vacuum.
Additionally, the V10 has a similar dust bin to the V15 and V11.
Samsung Jet 90 Usability
With the Jet 90 being the latest stick vacuum from Samsung, it has some more unique usability features.
- Free-standing base
- Telescoping wand
- Button controls
The Jet 90 comes with a free-standing charging base that is unique to this vacuum. Excluding the CordZero, all other vacuums come with a wall mount for charging and storage. Samsung’s free-standing base can charge 2 batteries, and store accessories.
The Jet 90 and the LG CordZero are the only stick vacuums to include a telescoping wand. This allows the length to be extended or contracted as needed, which is a great addition for usability.
Unlike the Dyson series, which uses a trigger to turn the vacuum on/off, the Samsung and LG vacuums use on / off buttons. The Jet 90 and other Jet vacuums have a digital display with basic vacuum information, as well as buttons to turn the vacuum on/off and change the suctions modes.
Samsung Jet 75 Usability
In a lot of ways the Jet 75 is similar to the Jet 90. Notable usability features include:
- Clickable batteries
- Button controls
All Samsung models have clickable batteries. This allows you to purchase an additional battery and switch out the batteries to extend cleaning time. In addition, it uses the same button controls and display as the Jet 90.
Unlike the Jet 90, the Jet 75 uses a wall mount for charging, rather than a free-standing base. If you would rather have a singular storage location for your vacuum, then a wall mount is a good option.
Samsung Jet 70 Usability
With the Jet 70 being the oldest of the Jet models, it doesn’t include the latest features we see in the Jet 90. However, it still includes a variety of usability features.
- Wall mount
- Button Controls
Like the Jet 75, the Jet 70 includes a wall mount for storage and charging. This wall mount can store some accessories for the vacuum.
Additionally, it uses a similar button control scheme as the Jet 75 and Jet 90.
LG CordZero Usability
As mentioned previously, the CordZero includes an additional battery and telescoping wand, which are both great additions for usability. Additionally, the CordZero includes some unique additions.
- Auto Empty base
- Compressor
- App
LG’s Auto Empty base has a range of capabilities from storing accessories, to charging the 2nd battery. The most helpful feature is the ability to automatically empty the dust bin of the A9 vacuum when it stored in the base. This greatly reduces overall maintenance for the vacuum.
Another unique addition, is the compressor on the dust bin. If you are vacuuming something like pet fur, you can use the compressor to compact the debris inside. This allows you to utilize the dust bin size more effectively.
LG also includes app connectivity for those who want it. The app can give usage reports as well as real-time charging information.
Long Hair Test
For the hair test, we laid out long strands of hair in the direct cleaning path of the vacuum. We then ran the vacuum over the hair, using the highest suction setting and the standard cleaning attachment.
V15 | V11 | V10 | Cordzero | |
---|---|---|---|---|
Hair Removed | 100% | 100% | 100% | 100% |
Hair Tangled | Minimal | Minimal | Minimal | Minimal |
All 4 vacuums completely removed the hair from the hardwood floor. When it came to the hair getting tangled we had slightly varied results.
Dyson V15
Dyson V11
The CordZero and V11 both had slightly more hair tangled in the brushroll than the V15 and V10. The difference between the vacuums was minimal, and overall they each avoided getting tangled for the most part.
Dyson V10
LG CordZero
Pet Hair Test
For the pet hair test, we lay pet fur in high pile carpet, and run the vacuum over it on the highest setting. We then record how much pet fur is left over, and if any is tangled in the brushroll.
V15 | V11 | V10 | Cordzero | |
---|---|---|---|---|
Pet Hair Removed | 99% | 99% | 99% | 95% |
Pet Hair Tangled | Minimal | Minimal | Minimal | Minimal |
For the Dyson models we used the High Torque head and it did an excellent job at managing the pet fur. It was able to agitate the carpet well enough to pick up the majority of the pet hair and avoid it getting tangled in the brushroll.
For each Dyson vacuum, I only noticed a few strands left in the carpet.
The CordZero didn’t perform as well, but still did an excellent job. It comes with a mini motorized tool designed for pet fur. We used this tool and it cleaned up 95% of the pet fur. In addition, the CordZero completely avoided any hair getting tangled in the brushroll.
Design
All 4 vacuums have similar features between their design. They all have:
- Multi-floor cleaning head
- Click-in cleaning tools
- Extension Wand
- In-hand dust bin
- 3 suction levels
- Washable filter
- Great cleaning performance
However, Samsung’s Jet series does differ from Dyson’s V vacuums in various ways.
Here are the key differences between the models:
- Charging Base
- Dust bin
- Controls & Display
- Clickable Batteries
#1. Charging Base
Which style of charging base you prefer, mostly depends on preference. All the Dyson models, and the Samsung Jet 75 and Jet 70 use a wall mount for storage and charging.
The wall mount can:
- Store the vacuum
- Store extra accessories
- Charge the battery
However, the Jet 90 and LG CordZero use a free-standing base. For the Jet 90 this base can:
- Be easily moved
- Charge 2 batteries at once
- Store accessories
- Store the vacuum
For the CordZero, the free standing is a little more cumbersome, but robust. Here are the capabilities of the Auto Empty base:
- Charge 2 batteries
- Store accessories
- Store/charge the vacuum
- Empty the vacuum’s dust bin
#2. Dust bin
The overall size and shape remains similar between the different vacuums. However, the design of the dust bin can vary. As mentioned previously the Dyson models all use the “point-and-shoot” style dust bin. This allows you to easily empty the debris as you are cleaning.
In comparison, emptying the Samsung dust bins takes a little more time and involves more steps that I would like to see.
If you choose to manually empty the CordZero it has a similar experience to the Jet vacuums. LG also included the compressor on the dust bin of the CordZero, which we discussed previously.
#3. Controls & Display
When it comes to how you control the vacuum, preference is the biggest factor. If you prefer to have the vacuum run while it is in your hands, then a trigger style like Dyson’s models may be the right choice for you.
The V15 and V11 use a button on top of the device to change modes, and the trigger to power the vacuum.
Additionally, the V15 and V11 include a digital display that provides the user information about the vacuum.
The V10 uses the same trigger, however, to change modes, you’ll need to use the switch, rather than a button. Furthermore, the V10 does not include a digital display but does have a battery-life indicator.
The Samsung models are all similar and use a button control. If you would rather not need to continuously squeeze a trigger while cleaning, then buttons are a great alternative.
These button controls allow you to power the vacuum and switch modes. The Samsung Jet models also include a digital display with basic information about the vacuum and it’s run time.
Controls for the LG are similar to the Samsung vacuums. The CordZero uses buttons, however, it forgoes a more robust digital display. Rather, they include a simple battery-life indicator.
#4. Clickable Battery
While a clickable battery may not be a key feature for everyone, it has some benefits over a permanently attached one.
The Dyson V15, V11, all the Samsung Jet vacuums, and the LG CordZero include a detachable battery. This allows you to charge the battery separate from the vacuum, which can be nice.
Additionally, if you buy a second battery, you can extend your cleaning time, by replacing the battery as you clean.
Size & Dimensions
Dyson V15 | Dyson V11 | Dyson V10 | Jet 90 | Jet 75 | Jet 70 | LG CordZero | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Length | 49.6″ | 50.6″ | 49.2″ | 44.8″ | 44.8″ | 44.3″ | 44.1″ |
Width | 9.8″ | 9.8 | 9.8″ | 8.3″ | 8.3″ | 8.3″ | 10.2″ |
Depth | 10.3″ | 10.3″ | 10.3″ | 9.9″ | 9.9″ | 9.9″ | 10.6″ |
Weight | 6.8 lbs. | 6.7 lbs. | 5.9 lbs. | 6.2 lbs. | 6.2 lbs. | 5.7 lbs. | 6.0 lbs. |
The different stick vacuums are similar in size, shape, and weight. The Dyson vacuums tend to be longer, which taller people may find more comfortable.
On the other hand, the Jet 90 and CordZero both include a telescoping wand, which allows for a more variable length.
Otherwise, their size and shape are quite similar, which makes handling the different vacuums substantially the same.
Accessories & Parts
The different vacuums come with a variety of accessories and tools to assist with cleaning. Most of them come with the standard tools, plus some more unique pieces.
Below is a comprehensive chart showcasing the accessories included with each vacuum.

Where are the differences?
While the previous table shows a comprehensive view of all accessories, the big question is: what are the differences?
Below, we have listed the accessories that are most notable.
Soft Brush Cleaning head: The V15 and all the Jet 90 and Jet 75 include a soft brushroll, which is great for hardwood floors.
While including this great, Dyson takes it one step further with the Fluffy head. It has a laser that illuminates finer dust particles making them easier to clean.
Including a soft brush tool is nice, but Dyson’s Fluffy has more functionality.
WINNER: Dyson V15
Flexible tool: This tool gives the Jet 90 and Jet 75 some extra maneuverability for those hard to reach places.
WINNER: Samsung Jet 90, Jet 75
Pet nozzle: Like Dyson, LG chose to replace the mini motorized tool with a more specialized option. The Pet nozzle is great for managing pet fur and good for softer surfaces.
WINNER: LG CordZero
Hair Screw tool: With the V15, Dyson included the Hair Screw tool as opposed to the standard mini motorized tool. This nozzle has similar functionality with the added bonus of being better at managing long hair.
WINNER: Dyson V15
Battery: With the V10 you only get the permanently attached battery. With all the other vacuum models you get a clickable battery that can be removed. The CordZero includes an additional battery which is great for extended cleaning sessions.
WINNER: LG CordZero
