The Edloe Finch Harlow Sectional Sofa scored well during our testing series. At Modern Castle we complete 6 different tests to help showcase the feel and comfort attributes of couches and sofas.

Bounce
First we started with our bounce test. We do this by dropping a 12-pound medicine ball from around 18” above the primary seat cushions and see how high it rebounds.
The bounce on the Edloe Finch Harlow was low. This is due to the materials used in the cushions. The poly fiber and down feather blend dissipate energy quickly, which lowers the amount of rebound.
Sinkage
We found the sinkage on the Harlow to be moderate due to the materials used in the seat cushions. The blend of poly fiber materials and down feathers are lightweight and don’t offer up much resistance to applied weight.
Even lightweight people will quickly sink through this layer down to the supportive foams.
This gives the Harlow a few inches of sinkage, however, the poly foam support layer offers a good amount of resistance and supports the majority of your weight.
Overall, this level of sinkage should be comfortable for a variety of body types and weights. It is deep enough to feel like you can sink into the cushions without feeling “stuck” in them.
Pressure Relief
While sitting or lying on the Edloe Finch Harlow sofa I felt a good amount of pressure relief. The top layer of poly fiber and down feathers offers a soft layer to sink through when you sit on the sofa. While the base poly foam layer offers the majority of the support while you are sitting.
The combination of these two effects creates the excellent pressure relief we experienced.
The material construction of the back cushions gives them a high level of pressure relief. The back cushions are much softer and are completely filled with poly fiber to a moderate density.
When leaning back on the cushions, I felt an even spread of pressure relief across my back.
Support
The Harlow Sectional has a high degree of support. Because of the chosen materials, the sinkage and pressure relief are at a moderate level. This gives the sofa a medium-soft feel, which is supportive for a wide range of people.
While you sink through the top layer of the seat cushions quickly, the base foam stops you from sinking further. This creates a good degree of support across the sofa.
The level of support is good for a wide range of people, regardless of body type or weight.
Cooling
The Edloe Finch sectional sofa showed excellent cooling performance during our tests. While lying and sitting on the sofa, I never felt hot.
The poly fiber/feather blends don’t retain heat and dissipate it quickly before it reaches the foam layers. Additionally, the polyester upholstery has a high degree of breathability.
Firmness
The Edloe Finch Harlow Sectional Sofa has a medium-soft firmness. I am rating the Harlow’s firmness at a 5 out of 10, where 10 is the most firm.
This level of firmness comes from the combination of the poly fiber and down feather blend that lays on top of the foam base.
This makes it a good fit for light or heavy weight people.
Assembly
Assembling the Harlow Sectional Sofa isn’t as easy as most other sofas in a box we’ve tested.
The two different sections come in two of the biggest boxes we have seen. Everything you need to assemble the sofa comes in the box, including the required tools.
Here are the steps required to assemble the sofa:
- Remove the sections from the boxes and remove all excess packaging
- Flip the sections on the back to show the bottom of each section
- Use the included allen wrench and screws to attach 4 legs to each section of the couch
- Attach the connection bridge to the appropriate section of the sofa with the included screwdriver and screws
- Attach a center leg onto the sofa by screwing it in by hand
- Flip the sofa onto the legs and align the two sections via the connection bridge
- Push the sofa together
This process took 2 people about 39 minutes to complete. This is more time than I would have liked to spend on assembling the sofa and more than we have seen from other sofas we’ve tested.
It wasn’t a difficult process, but it did take longer than I expected. If you would rather have someone else complete the setup, there is an upgraded delivery service where they will deliver the sofa to the room you choose and set it up.
Design
The Edloe Finch Harlow has a modern look with a uniform polyester grey fabric that covers the sofa. The polyester fabric is a little rougher, but that feels more durable. However, it still feels soft when lying or sitting on the sofa.
Options & Dimensions
The Harlow sectional sofa doesn’t have a lot of customizable options. However, what you can choose is whether or not you want a left or right-facing chaise. This allows you to fit the sofa to your needs.
Here are the exact dimensions of the sofa:
General Width | 114″ |
General Length | 63″ |
General Height | 33″ |
Seat Height | 18″ |
Seat Length | 24″ |
Arm Height | 27″ |
Weight | 224 lbs. |
The Harlow has a modern look with a uniform polyester grey fabric that covers the sofa.
Legs
The legs are made of stainless steel and are given a gold color. They taper to the side to support the weight of the couch and have soft padding on the bottom so as to not scratch the floor.
While there is a soft padding on the bottom, on the edges of the legs there is a sharp edge. We found when tilting the couch those edges would dig into our hardwood floor.
When moving and setting up the sofa you’ll want to be sure to fully lift the sofa and place softly flat onto the ground. If you tilt or come down at an angle more delicate floors could easily become damaged.
Base
The base of the Harlow is split into two sections. One for the main body of the sofa and the other for the chaise lounge.
These two pieces attach together with a connection bridge you install yourself. These two pieces push together and form a lock that holds the connection well.
The arms and back all connect to the base seamlessly, forming a solid piece of furniture.
Seat
There are 3 seat cushions that cover the sofa. The fabric is the same polyester blend used across the sofa. They are zipped up at the top with a flap to tuck the zipper into.
Here are the internal materials of the seat cushions:
The poly-feather blend is enclosed in its own casing. This casing is divided into 3 subsections to keep the poly-feather blend from clumping up. I like this feature as it helps the cushions to keep their shape better, especially over long-term use.
Arms
The arms are sturdy and connect seamlessly with the base of the couch. They are covered with the grey polyester fabric, and have a minor amount of cushioning surrounding it.
On the sectional side, there are 2 smaller arm cushions that are filled with a poly fiber blend.
Back
The back cushions are plush and offer a good amount of pressure relief due to their internal construction. They have a zipper at the top without a flap to tuck the zipper into.
The cushion is stuffed with a poly fiber filling with a moderate density. The poly fiber is encased to prevent the fibers from getting loose.
The back cushions have a good amount of give, and are comfortable to sit or lie on.
Shipping & Returns
Edloe Finch offers free shipping in the U.S. They also offer an upgraded service and will deliver the couch into your selected room and assemble the sofa for you. This is a good option if you are not comfortable with assembling the sofa yourself.
They offer a 30-day window to return the sofa for a full refund. Please note that they will not refund for the upgraded shipping, and they do want the sofa in the original packaging.
