Performance Tests

To test the comfort and performance of the eLuxury Tufted Futon, we take subjective measurements of 5 different factors.

Performance Highlights

Bounce

There was a high degree of bounce on the eLuxury Futon. The ball sinks a fair amount into the cushions before rebounding up, just over the back of the couch.

This level of bounce makes the surface easier to move around on.

Sinkage

Sinkage levels for the eLuxury Futon are minimal. The high density foam used in the cushions creates a firm surface with a lot of push back.

Lighter bodies will float more on top of the foams, whereas heavier bodies will sink more into the foams. 

Pressure Relief

Due to the sinkage levels and material choices I would consider the pressure relief to be moderate. It has a thinner design with 10.25” of cushion thickness and high density foams as the material choice. This all means that it creates modest pressure relief in the short term, but it isn’t overly plush.

The same thing applies to the eLuxury Tufted Futon when in the flat configuration. Additionally, the length of the futon creates a surface too short for most adults to properly lie on. 

Support

Due to the use of high density foams and a metal frame, the eLuxury Tufted Futon is highly supportive. Most weights will find they have plenty of material and pushback to work with before they sink into the frame. 

In addition, the back of the sofa offers the same level of support and comfort, being made of the same material. 

Firmness

Firmness for the eLuxury Tufted Futon is a 7 out of 10, where 10 is the most firm. This firmer feel is created by the thinner, more supportive design and high density foams used in the cushions. 

Assembly

Assembly is incredibly quick and easy for the eLuxury Tufted Futon. It takes a singular person about 5 minutes from boxed to setup futon. 

Once the packaging is removed you will need to search the bottom of the futon for a cardboard box containing the wooden legs. When they are removed, you simply screw them into the slots and the futon is ready to be used.

With the sofa set up it can be configured into either position fairly easily. Simply by applying pressure to the back of the sofa, pushing it towards the seat cushions, it will click twice letting you know it locks in the new position. This applies to both the seated and flat configurations. 

Design

The eLuxury Tufted Futon utilizes a 100% polyester cover and high density foams across the entire sofa. The polyester cover comes in two different color options:

• Cream
• Gray

We chose the gray color to test and are pleased with the simple and clean design. It is a great accent piece for a modern home, with the added benefit of some great functionally. 

Legs

The legs on the eLuxury Futon are simple rubberwood that screw into the base of the futon. Overall, they are short, making the futon a total height of 13.75” with the cushions. 

My only concern is with time and extended use, these could be damaged, giving the whole futon an off-balance feel. With our current level of testing this doesn’t seem to be the case and the legs feel quite solid.

Base

The base of the futon is solid, made of a metal frame and seems quite durable. The only concern I have is for the futon functionality of the sofa. In most cases, moving parts are the most prone to issues. That said, our current level of testing has shown no signs of a malfunction.

Seat & Back

Both the seat and back are made of the same material and design given the futon functionality. They are covered in 100% polyester and filled with 10.25” of high density polyurethane foam. 

This material design creates a firm and supportive cushion with a moderate amount of pressure relief.

The eLuxury Tufted Futon is a smaller furniture piece, designed to accent a room and provide an additional seat.

Shipping for the eLuxury Tufted Futon is free within the continental United States. Additionally, the furniture comes with a 30-day refund policy. The futon needs to be in good condition and in the original packaging.
