Plug-In Indoor Cam with Great Value
Eufy Indoor Cam 2K
The Eufy Indoor camera has 2K video resolution, local or cloud video storage, and smart activity detection. The high resolution allows for up to 8X of zoom as well. During our tests, we found the day time video quality to be exceptional and night time quality was very good. We did experience some difficulty with connecting to the camera’s live view, but that could vary based on network quality. Overall, this camera has solid performance if you’re looking for a plug-in, indoor camera. Check PricePros

10 SECOND SUMMARY: The Eufy indoor camera has great video quality in day or night indoor environments. The app was easy to use to view a live feed of the camera, take screenshots, or send 2-way audio. In addition, there is also a pretty decent audible siren for added security. All of these features listed are free (without a subscription) so this camera is a great value.
Video: Day vs. Night
The video quality of the Eufy indoor camera is crisp and clear. It offers 2K video resolution (or 1080p when paired with the Apple HomeKit).
Day
Daytime video footage has balanced and full color. At windows, there was a little bit of overexposure, but not terrible.
Even with figures at a slightly further distance, the picture was still quite clear.
Night
For night time shots the Eufy switches to black and white mode. It uses 8 IR LEDs to provide visibility and can illuminate up to 32.8 feet.
There is still a good amount of contrast between the lightest and darkest surfaces so it is easy to get a clear picture.
Audio
For the purpose of our review, we look at three aspects of audio performance:
- Audio Detection
- 2-Way Audio
- Audible siren
All of these factors are important for complete home security and can work in tandem to help you (1) know when someone or something is in your home and (2) effective ways to respond to viable threats.
How good is the audio on the Eufy?
- Audio Detection: The audio detection was pretty clear and easy to understand conversations or louder things also like dogs barking, glass breaking, etc.
- 2-Way Audio: The 2-way audio feature was a nice feature also. It is easy to activate 2-way audio on the app and verbally send instant messages that are audibly transmitted through the camera.
- Audible Siren: The siren is decently loud on this camera, although Eufy doesn’t explicitly give a dB rating. The alarm can be opened manually or triggered automatically, depending on the settings you have.
The Eufy App
The Eufy app makes it easy to monitor the camera, view history, or change settings. You can view a live feed from multiple Eufy cameras, view a history of pre-recorded events, or change mode.
The Modes
This Eufy camera has three modes:
- Away: settings when you leave home
- Home: settings when you are at home
- Schedule: schedule switch Home/Away state
If suspicious activity is detected, you have a few options. You can:
- View a live feed of the activity
- Sound an alert with 2-way audio
- Emit the onboard siren
During our tests we used the app extensively to try out all of the features. Overall, our experience with the app was good. Menus, features, and settings are intuitive, and everything works well.
However, during our night tests we had quite a lot of trouble at getting the app to connect to the camera for a live view. In most cases, connectivity issues are the fault of larger wifi network issues.
However, we recently upgraded to a commercial grade access point that was around 20 feet away from the camera. In our view, our network hardware is more than sufficient.
All that said, when it worked it worked great. However, we would be remiss if we did not mention our issues with live view connectivity.
Eufy Design
The Eufy indoor camera has a simple white body with rounded edges and a black gloss face. The stem of the camera is also white with a flat base.
The back of the camera has 2 inputs, one for the power adapter and a reset button on the left side.
There is also an input slot for an SD card, located on the side of the camera.
The SD card would be sold separately and only needed if you want local storage.
For Cloud-based storage only, there is no SD card required.
Operation
It plugs into a standard wall outlet and cannot run wirelessly. When it’s plugged in and running, the camera will emit a small blue light to indicate that it is on
The top portion of the camera can pivot freely and it has a field of view up to 125°.
Thanks largely in part to the 2K resolution, this camera has zoom up to 8X.
The controls for the Eufy indoor camera are all available via the Eufy app.

How easy is it to use?
So after install and initial setup, how easy is this camera to use? Overall, we found it incredibly easy.
Once connected to your smartphone, the Eufy cam will send push notifications when there is activity.
The alerts were relatively sensitive to activity, but if you found them to be too sensitive or not enough, it is easy to adjust in the app.
It was able to distinguish between people and pets and the activity zones were a nice feature to help identify more important areas.

Summary
The Eufy security camera is an indoor only 2K camera. During our tests, video quality was exceptionally good during the day, and still quite good at night. Our overall experience with the app was good, however, we did experience some connectivity issues with live view. Ultimately, the Eufy camera’s price point is the most compelling feature. It offers an excellent set of features and performance for less than many competitors.
