The H6 is Roborock’s newest model and their first cordless stick vacuum cleaner. How well can it clean though? Let’s find out now.

Design

The H6 is Roborock’s newest cordless stick vacuum. It is designed to rival the features of the Dyson V-Series. but at a lower price point.

This vacuum is designed to run as a cordless stick vacuum or a cordless handheld vacuum. It has a motor that can last up to 800 hours and a digital LED screen in-hand.

It comes with two different cleaning heads, one soft roller for hard surface flooring and one with a spiral bruhsroll for carpet floors.

The Roborock H6 has a simple 3-part assembly process.

1. In-Hand dustbin and motor with controls
2. Extension wand
3. Cleaning head

There are quick-release connection points that make it easy to attach or detach these three parts and cycle through any of the other cleaning tools.

Features

Here are some of our favorite features on the H6 stick vacuum.

1. Cordless design

The H6 has a cordless design and a powerful on-board motor. Unlike the Dyson V-Serie stick vacuums, the Roborock has a trigger “Lock On” feature that allows the vacuum to run continuously without having to hold the trigger down.

This would tend to drain the battery quicker, but if you don’t like the idea of having to hold down a button for continued use, this could be a handy feature.

How long is the run time?

With a full battery, the Roborock can run for:

• Eco mode: 90 minutes
• Max mode: 10 minutes

Exact run-time will largely be determined by floor type, required suction, and debris.

2. OLED Display

The OLED display is a smart tool that provides additional details about your cleaning cycles. Different features on the OLED screen include:

• Lock / Unlock
• Remaining power
• Current mode
• Maintenance alerts

3. Cleaning Head

This H6 comes with a multi-surface cleaning head.

1. Spiral bristle brushroll: designed for agitating carpeted floors to help capture sunken debris.

One area where the cleaning head is not the best is when cleaning large debris, especially on hard surfaces. During our cereal tests, we noticed cereal had a tough time and often found itself caught in the head between the roller and the plastic shell.

The size of the Roborock H6 is pretty consistent with other cordless stick vacuums on the market.

• Width – 9.8″
• Weight – 5.4 pounds (87 ounces)

The H6 comes with a wall-mounted dock that has room for the vacuum to hang as well as room for the attachments.

Parts & Accessories

So what all comes with the H6 stick vac? Quite a bit actually.

This vacuum includes a wide assortment of tools for handheld or upright use, making it versatile and convenient to swap things around as needed.

What’s in the box?

• Spiral bristle cleaning head: uses a spiral design of bristles and rubberized paddles to agitate and pull debris from carpeted floors
• Small dusting brush: a short dusting brush for cleaning smooth surfaces like tabletops, cabinets, furniture, or small decor
• Motorized mini-brush: a small motorized brushroll great for capturing pet hair or cleaning mattresses, bedding, or upholstery
• Crevice tool: a long and narrow tool for hard-to-reach spaces like couch cushions, corners, and automobile interiors
• Flex tube: a soft dusting brush at the end with a flexible, extending tube in the middle; great for small scale, multi-purpose cleaning without having to maneuver the handheld vacuum as much

Cleaning Tests

To test the performance of the Roborck H6, we put it through a series of cleaning tests in our testing lab. We run a series of simulated tests to see how well the vacuum can clean floors from a variety of debris types and densities.

We test this debris on three different floor types for a more rounded performance score. The floors types we use are:

• hardwood floors
• low pile carpet
• high pile carpet

The Results

Overall, the cleaning performance was pretty good. It struggled a bit with large debris on hardwoods, where it basically pushed everything forward and made it harder to suck up all of the debris.

On carpet, the biggest struggle was finer debris, specifically sugar, but that’s not entirely uncommon for most vacuum cleaners.

NOTE: All cleaning tests are done on Max Mode at 150 AW.

Cleaning Hardwoods

As mentioned above, large debris (namely cereal) was the biggest issue on the hardwood test. The brushroll tended to push the debris forward instead of really getting on top of it and sucking it up.

Cleaning Low Carpet Floors

On low carpet, cleaning performance was nearly flawless for every debris type except for sugar, where it struggled a bit more. Overall, pretty good performance.

Cleaning High Carpet

Same story with high pile carpet as the low pile carpet. Again, the sugar had some issues, but the rest of the performance was excellent.

Brushroll Issues

In our initial review (see the specific issue via video here) we noticed an issue with the brushroll sometimes stopping on our ultra low pile rug. We brought the issue to Roborock who told us the issue was fixed with the more recent version of the H6 and sent us a new model to test.

We re-tested this issue and found the new model is definitely improved. The updated H6 seems to do a better job of increasing power when it encounters additional friction (as was the case on this carpet), which is able to keep the brushroll spinning.

However, despite its improvements it wasn’t perfect. We still see that the H6 brushroll can sometimes stop spinning while cleaning this ultra low pile rug. It should also be noted that we did not experience any brushroll stoppage issues on any of our other carpet samples. So it seems to be an isolated issue.

I sent a video of the problem to Roborock, who responded with the following:

“I have checked with my team. We think perhaps this carpet has relatively rough surface which means the H6 registers much more friction than usual.

We see there’s noticeable reduction in speed too before stopping, so this could be an relatively rare/ isolated case. Having said that we see room for improvement in this aspect – to continue to refine the settings so that we’re able to handle these surfaces without issues”

Setup & Usability

Unboxing the Vacuum

Out of the box, the H6 is intuitive and quick to get going. You’ll need to unbox it fully and discard all original packaging.

All of the cleaning tools attach with the same quick-connect design so basically hold down the red button, slide into place, release, and you’re good to go.

You’ll want to give the vacuum a full charge before starting the first cleaning cycle, which takes several hours.

Daily Use

Daily use with the Rboorck H6 is pretty straightforward. All tools and attachments simply attach with a quick-click design, making it easy to go back and forth between handheld and stick vacuum mode.

Maneuverability

The maneuverability of the H6 is good and easy for lots of cleaning tasks. As a cordless stick, it is lightweight (5.4 pounds) and can make tight turns.

The cleaning head is low to the floor and it is easy to slide under low furniture when needed.

The extension wand can be used for cleaning as a stick vacuum or for extended reach as a handheld, like when cleaning crown molding, fans, or ceiling vents.

One tool that is unique to the Roborck family is the Flex Tube. This tool combines a dusting brush with the crevice tool for reaching awkward or hard-to-reach areas. The flexible tubing makes it easier to navigate small spaces.

Maintenance

Keeping the H6 running smoothly comes down to a few quick tasks.

Here’s the shortlist of what you’ll need to do.

1. Empty the dustbin, as needed.
2. Charge / replace the battery, as needed.
3. Wash / replace the filter, as needed.

Both the front and rear filters are washable as well as the dust bin. This helps to extend the lifespan of these items and limits maintencne costs for frequent replacements.

To clean the filters, pop them off of the vacuum, rinse with warm water, and leave out for 24 hours to dry.

Is the Roborock a good value?

The value of the Roborock H6 is pretty solid. It has a lot of really great features like:

• OLED display screen
• Long run time (up to 90 minutes)
• Variety of cleaning tools
• 2-in-1 capability with quick-release connections

While the performance didn’t quite come up to par with the Dyson V11, the sticker price is lower. When it comes to overall value, the Roborock H6 is a big win, in my opinion.

Should you buy the Roborock H6?

I would recommend the Roborock H6 if you’re looking for the following in a cordless stick vacuum:

• Dyson alternative: With the alternating cleaning tools, quick-release attachment, and OLED display screen, there’s a lot to like about the H6 vacuum. It checks many of the same boxes as a Dyson stick vacuum, but at a lower price point.
• Good value: This vacuum strikes a nice balance between good performance and a decent price. It’s not as powerful as a Dyson V11, but you save a chunk of change so for many people, it could be worth it.
• Want a lot of accessories: If you plan on using this vacuum in a variety of ways, the H6 is a solid option. It comes with a huge variety of tools and two cleaning heads.
