Vacuum, Mop, and Steamer
Eufy Mach V1 Ultra
This cordless stick vacuum is difficult to compare to others on this site, like Dyson. It does what it’s designed to do extremely well. However, it’s simply not designed to be your typical household vacuum. It is a hard surface floor cleaner with a suction, mop, and steam mode. While it can handle carpets on suction mode, our performance tests show it doesn’t do well enough to be your all-purpose house vacuum.
Pros
- Very long battery life
- Solidly built and well-designed
- Excellent hardwood floor cleaning performance
Cons
- Only really useful for cleaning hard floors
- Not suitable to clean large debris such as cereal.
- Expensive for a limited-use device

Summary
The Eufy Mach V1 looks good, feels good, and has excellent cleaning performance. The one big catch is that, while it is merely competent on carpets, it’s truly designed for hardwood, tile, & other hard surfacing floors. If you’re looking for a classic stick vacuum, this may not fill that role. Rather, the Mach V1 is excellent as an all–in–one hard surface floor cleaner.

Performance Tests
To test wet-dry vacuums, we put them through a series of 7 different tests to measure cleaning performance and usability.
Our testing series includes:
- Cleaning test
- Mop test
- Long Hair test
- Pet hair test
- Runtime
- Noise
- Usability test
Cleaning Test
For our cleaning tests, we ran the Eufy Mach V1 on 3 different floor types and test its ability to suck up four debris types:
- Sugar
- Kitty Litter
- Rice
- Cereal
Note: cereal was removed from the test for reasons we’ll explain in the next section.
For the Eufy Mach V1, the results are as follows:
Overall
92.2%
Hardwood
99.0%
Low Carpet
93.1%
High Carpet
84.63%
Now it should be said that cereal (cheerios) had to be removed from the test, as the opening in the brush head on the Mach V1 simply couldn’t fit the large debris.
Rather than letting a pure zero tank the score, we recognize that this is simply a limitation of the device and the subsequent scores are not factoring that debris type at all.
Hardwood Floor Cleaning
On hardwood floors, the Eufy really shines. The 3 remaining debris types were removed from the floors almost entirely. There were trace amounts left on the testing lane that was not detectable during our weigh-in at the end, hence the 99% scores.

Overall, the Eufy Mach V1 does extremely well on hardwood floors.
Low Pile Carpet Cleaning
For low pile carpets, we saw a bit of a dip in performance. Specifically, with the smaller debris types like Sugar and Kitty Litter, the Mach V1 had some issues. However, the scores were respectable in the end.
Sugar

Kitty Litter
82.2%
Rice

It’s my belief that the suction is powerful enough, but the design of the brush head may be less effective on carpet.
You can see the brushroll, in particular, has no enhancements to grab and pick up debris the way many other brushrolls do. It’s simply a soft cloth roller.
High Pile Carpet Cleaning
Following the low-pile performance, we saw the pattern continue and intensify with the higher-pile carpet. This time we saw the lowest performance across the floor types for the Eufy Mach V1 at 84.63%.
Again, we see the larger debris, rice, effectively picked up by the vacuum with more of the smaller debris able to avoid removal. This theory of the brushroll being at fault feels validated by our data.
The higher the pile of the carpet, the less small debris is removed by the Eufy.

While these scores are not bad, they could be better. They could certainly better utilize the powerful suction that this device is able to generate if there were a different brushroll for carpets instead of the only one provided, which feels solely intended for hard surfaces.
Mop Test
To test the mopping capabilities of the Eufy Mach V1 Ultra, we cleaned roughly 1,500 sq. ft. in the home of one of our team members, which is made up of tile floors. We cleaned with only water in the tank, however, it can use the cleaning solution provided by Eufy.
After cleaning we let it run a self-cleaning cycle using its charger/mop pad and analyzed the dirty water coming out of the tank.
This surface has moderately high traffic from 3 humans and 2 dogs. From what we observed, the Eufy removed a large amount of dirt and stains from the floor along with a lot of small debris that the dogs track in from outside.
For this test, we used the maximum power mode by holding down the trigger while on the mop/smart cleaning mode.
We also looked at smudges and stains that were present before the test.
The Eufy does a good job removing small to moderate levels of surface stains, but there were a few sticky spots that needed some manual attention with a sponge to remove.
Overall, I feel great about the mopping performance and the Eufy’s ability to mop and vacuum at the same time. In the collection tank, there is a design for dry/large debris to filter on a shelf above the water. However, our experience is that it all mixes together for the most part.
Though, the amount of dirt, hair, and other debris that was collected in the dirty water tank was impressive.
Long Hair Test
For our hair test, we place strands of hair in the direct cleaning path of the vacuum. We then run the vacuum over it and check to see how much hair was removed, and if any tangled in the brushroll.
Amount on Floor

Amount Tangled

Overall Performance
Poor
The Eufy Mach V1 struggled a bit with long hair. While it was effective at removing the long strands from the testing lane, almost none of them made it to the collection bin.
When we examined the brush head, we found the majority of the 1 gram used in the test wrapped around the roll. This is not surprising given that its design has no features that would address this issue.
Compared to the Shark Stratos, which has numerous little touches in its design and 0% tangled in its tests, the Eufy is just a solid roll of spongy material.
After removing the brush roll we found the last of the tangled hair strands in the corners of the brush head. So this vacuum will remove the hair from your floors, you will just have to keep up on maintenance of the brush roll if you deal in large volumes of long hair.
Pet Hair Test
Our pet hair test is similar to the long hair test, in that we place pet fur in the direct cleaning path of the vacuum, run the vacuum over it, and see how much is removed. For this test, we placed the pet hair on high pile carpet and ran the Mach V1 on the maximum setting.
Amount in Carpet
0.39 g
Overall Performance
Good
After one pass, about 42% was collected into the tank or found in the brush head upon disassembly. The rest were in big clumps grouped on the testing lane. After a second pass, 92% was collected in the device with the remaining 8% on the testing lane.
A third pass finally got all of the pet hair off the testing lane.
The passes we do during testing are non–reactionary and uniform to maintain consistency between tests. But during our real-world use of the vacuum, one would collect those clumps fairly easily.
Overall, I would say the device is competent at pet hair removal. If you have a household with multiple pets and/or lots of hair, I think the Mach V1 would do fine. It’s the maintenance in the dustbin that becomes the bigger worry for me. More on that in a bit.
Runtime Test
For our runtime test, we fully charge the battery, and let the vacuum run on each mode until the battery runs out of power. In this case, there are only normal and max power intensities for each cleaning mode.
Here are the results from our test:
Suction
73 mins 36 secs
Suction Max
47 mins 13 secs
From our experience with mopping the floors, we found an extremely long battery life. We were mopping multiple rooms and roughly 1500 sq. ft. and didn’t make it below 50% battery life as shown on the crisp LCD screen.
The steam mode takes the most power and drains the battery the quickest. Even so, we were able to complete a thorough cleaning of our floors on one charge.
Overall, this device has a relatively long runtime.
Noise Test
To test the noise of the Eufy, we ran the vacuum on hardwood floor on each power mode to measure the amount of noise generated with a sound meter from about 3’ away.
Smart Mode
72.9 dB
Suction Mode
74.1 dB
Steam Mode
70.7 dB
The noise generated by the 3 modes is extremely similar. The numbers displayed above represent each mode’s loudest value. For Smart and Suction modes this is when holding the trigger down to enable maximum power.
For the Steam mode, holding the trigger down activates the water for steaming. We recorded that noise level at 56.6 dB. However, when the trigger isn’t pulled, it defaults to suction mode and is effectively 70.7 dB practically speaking.
Common noise levels
- 20 dB – rustling leaves
- 30 dB – whisper
- 40 dB – quiet library, babbling brook
- 50 dB – refrigerator, moderate rainfall
- 60 dB – normal conversation, dishwashers
- 70 dB – traffic, showers
- 80 dB – alarm clock, telephone dial tone
Usability Test
Usability on the Eufy Mach V1 is another area where the device does well for how it is designed. Simply put, there are a few basic features you might expect on a cordless stick vacuum that is not available here. For example:
- There is no handheld mode
- There are no attachments to extend its reach or better tackle cleaning in crevices or carpets.
- It cannot lay flat on the ground to get under furniture easier
This is a floor cleaner only.
That being said, the Eufy utilizes incredibly innovative features that make it feel high-end and easy to use. Such as:
- Extremely clear LCD screen
- Voiced feedback to toggling controls and notifying of issues
- Multiple LED lights visualizing various aspects of use
- Quick disassembly of the brush head for maintenance
- Smooth removal and insertion of tanks and bins with magnetic connections
- Self-cleaning charging station with progress displayed on screen
There is also an app from Eufy to connect your device in order to show animated instructions and some remote control capabilities. We found it easy enough to understand without needing help from another app on our phone.
For its intended purpose, the Eufy is well-designed and easy to use.
Setup
Setup for the Eufy Mach V1 Ultra is extremely simple and can be ready in under 10 minutes. There is a layer of plastic wrap around the entire device as well as another layer of tight plastic protectors around sensitive areas like the LCD screen.
You’ll want to become familiar with the 3 removable tanks – one for the clean water, one for the dirty water, and one for the cleaning solution (if desired).
There is a fairly strong off-gassing smell, but it dissipates within hours of unboxing.
Controls
The controls on the Eufy Mach V1 are simple and intuitive. They boil down to:
- 3 buttons
- 1 Switch
- 1 trigger
- 1 small but incredibly crisp LCD screen and voice instructions
There are two buttons adjacent to the LCD screen that will see the most use. The one on the right is the power button and the one on the left is the mode button to switch between smart (mop), suction, and steam.
The third button is further up the handle and it enables or disables the voice prompts. These voice prompts are helpful but have a somewhat robotic accent that makes it difficult to understand when you’re new to the device.
Finally, the switch on the side simply toggles the cleaning solution for the smart/mop mode.
The screen is extremely clear and visualizes every option from cleaning mode to voice prompts being enabled.
During steam mode, it also shows you the status of the brush head as it makes itself ready for steam. The LEDs in the brush head also show a progress bar for when it’s properly warmed up and ready for use. The voice will also tell you if you pull the trigger to release steam too early.
Altogether, the controls are easy to understand and all of the feedback through the screen, voice, and lights feel helpful rather than unnecessary.
Maintenance
The design of the Eufy Mach V1 makes considerations towards maintenance. The brush head is easy to access with a simple lifting of the clear top plate (held in place by a magnetic connection) and button release of the brush roll.
Eufy provides a cleaning brush to clear out hair or other clogged debris from the intake. With the removal of the dustbin/dirty water tank, you should be able to access the intake from the other side with ease.
As far as the frequency of replacement parts, Eufy recommends replacing the filter and rolling brush every 6 months.
Accessories
Unfortunately, the Eufy Mach V1 is different from many standard stick vacuums in that there are few accessories that it comes with.
Its design does not accommodate different cleaning heads or extension wands so there won’t be any extra parts that enhance or change how it cleans.
What the Eufy does come with is a recharging stand that also acts as a self-cleaning pad as well as an extra filter, extra roller brush, and 4 descaling solution packs. Finally, there is a cleaning tool for cleaning out the intake and brush head.
Size & Dimensions
The size of the Eufy Mach V1 Ultra is fairly standard as far as length, but it is wider throughout the length of the device than most stick vacuums. This is in order to make room for the three separate tanks of liquid as well as the motor. So its “stick” shape is more rotund relative to the category of cordless stick vacuums.
- Width – 10.94”
- Depth – 10.00”
- Height – 46.38”
- Weight – 12.57
The Mach V1 is also heavier than average. It certainly feels solid with an emphasis on battery life rather than a slim appearance. Compared to one of the heaviest Dyson cordless sticks, the Outsize+ at 7.98 lbs., the Eufy Mach V1 is still 4.59 pounds heavier than that.
Though, as we mentioned, it is not intended for any handheld operation so its heavier weight won’t impede its intended use as much as a normal stick vacuum.

Should you buy the Eufy Mach V1 Ultra?
I would recommend the Eufy Mach V1 wet/dry vacuum if you’re looking for the following features:
- Effective hardwood floor cleaning From dust to dog hair, spills to stains, the Mach V1 can tackle most any mess on your hardwood floors. Our performance tests showed excellent results for most debris, hair, and stains.
- Easy to use and clean: The controls are straightforward and the display screen is one of the sharpest we’ve ever seen on a vacuum. There are a few specific features that one would need to consult the manual on, but mostly, the functionality of the Mach V1 can be understood within the first 15 minutes of use.
- Long runtime: During both the specific runtime tests and our prolonged use of its 3 modes, it is apparent that it has an incredibly long battery life.
