Summary
The Osotek Horizon is a self cleaning wet and dry mop. While you clean the floor with the device, it will clean the roller brush at the same time. In addition, it cleans the floors well too. It removed a healthy amount of dirt while mopping and 97.1% of all debris in our vacuum test. Usability across the board is excellent as the H200 is easy to set up, use, and maintain. If your house has mostly hard floors, the Horizon is a solid option.

Performance Tests
To test the Osotek, we put it through a series of 4 different tests to measure cleaning performance and usability.
These tests include:
- Mop test
- Cleaning test
- Noise test
- Usability test
Mop Test
For our mop test, we cleaned our ~1,000 sq. ft. office and studio space with the Osotek Horizon. We used some of the included cleaning solution for the job, and ran the mop on Auto mode. After cleaning the floor, we check the roller brush and the dirty water tank for dirt and debris.
Mopping performance for the Osotek was excellent. We have a decent amount of foot traffic from humans and dogs, so our floors can get relatively messy without upkeep.
While the roller brush wasn’t too dirty, thanks to the automatic self cleaning, the dirty water tank was another story. The water in the dirty water tank was practically black, showing fantastic results. In addition, after running a self cleaning cycle in the dock, an additional amount of dirty water was cleaned from the roller brush.
Cleaning Test
The Osotek Horizon is specifically designed for hard surfaces, therefore, we only ran our cleaning test on the hardwood floor. For this test, we laid sugar, kitty litter, rice, and cereal on a testing lane. We then ran the mop on turbo over the debris.
After which, we clean up the remaining debris and compare it to the starting amount to determine performance.
Sugar
100%
Kitty Litter
99.0%
Rice
98.0%
Cereal
91.5%
Overall, the Osotek Horizon was able to remove 97.1% of all debris. This is great performance. While the Horizon struggled a bit more with cereal, leaving a few pieces behind, most of the debris was removed.
For comparison, the average stick vacuum we test is able to remove 94.6% of all debris, making the Osotek better than the average stick vacuum.
Noise Test
For our noise test, we measure how loud the Ostotek Horizon runs in each mode. We do this by first measuring the ambient noise levels of the room.
Next we run the H200 in each mode, measuring the level of generated noise from about 3’ away with a noise meter. Additionally, we measure the level of noise created by a self-cleaning cycle.
Mode | Sound Level |
---|---|
Ambient | 39.5 dB |
Auto | 72.4 dB |
Turbo | 73.4 dB |
Suction | 72.9 dB |
Self-clean | 74.7 dB |
Noise levels for the Ostotek are fairly loud, but that isn’t unexpected. Regardless of the mode, the noise levels of the H200 tend to stay within 72-74 dB.
Osotek themselves state that it can generate 75 dB of noise, which about matches our testing.
Common noise levels:
- 20 dB – rustling leaves
- 30 dB – whisper
- 40 dB – quiet library, babbling brook
- 50 dB – refrigerator, moderate rainfall
- 60 dB – normal conversation, dishwashers
- 70 dB – traffic, showers
- 80 dB – alarm clock, telephone dial tone
Usability Test
Usability for the Osotek Horizon is quite good. It takes a bit of setup, but using and maintaining the device is simple.
The device can lay flat on the ground and still work and offers a light on the cleaning head to help illuminate the area you are cleaning.
Setup
Setup takes a single person 10-15 minutes to complete as the Osotek comes in a few different pieces out of the box.
- Horizon H200 body
- Horizon H200 handle
- Roller brush holder
- Roller brush
- Charging dock
- Accessory container
- Cleaning tool
- Cleaning Solution
- Power Cord
Most of the setup requires the user to attach the roller brush to the main body.
This is done by:
- Squeezing the roller brush holder together
- Sliding the roller brush on
- Attach to the cleaning head of the Horizon
- Twist the knob to lock it in
From there you can attach the handle and set up the charging base. Our H200 we tested came out of the box with a 40% battery, so you will want to make sure to fully charge the device before first use.
While the device is charging, you can fill the clean water tank with a capful of cleaning solution, if you choose to use it, and clean water.
Controls
Controls are quite simple on the Osotek Horizon.
There are 3 buttons on the device, 1 to toggle power and another to switch between modes:
- Auto: Will automatically use the best suction based on what it detects while cleaning
- Turbo: Uses the maximum suction power
- Suction: Used to clean up liquids
The third button can only be pressed while the Horizon is charging, as it starts a self cleaning cycle. This cycle won’t start if there is less than 10% of battery.
On the main body of the H200 is a display which conveys device information. It prominently displays the remaining battery life in the center with other key pieces of info scattered across the rest of the space.
Run Time
On normal power mode the Osotek has a run time of up to 35 minutes.
Maintenance
Maintenance is where the Osotek Horizon really shines. While you still need to fill and empty the water tanks, the device itself automatically self cleans the roller brush. While you are cleaning the H200 will be using the water to clean the roller brush. In addition, you can initiate a self-cleaning cycle at the charging station for a more intensive clean.
Of course, you will still need to manually wash the roller brush, but this can happen less frequently thanks to the self-cleaning capabilities.
Size & Dimensions
The Osotek Horizon H200 stands fairly tall, which gives the device a good amount of reach when lying down.
Here are the exact dimensions:
- Width – 10.0”
- Depth – 9.0”
- Height – 43.5”
- Weight – 11.7 lbs.
