Design
This Electrolux vacuum offers a sharp aesthetic with modern features. The 2-in-1 design allows users to break away the handheld vacuum from the stick, giving you the ability to clean on and above your floors (stairs, couches, etc.).
Additionally, the lightweight, cordless design of the Ergorapido vacuum cleaner makes it easy for users to move up and down stairs. The slender stick design is also light enough to be hung on a wall by the “nail slot” etched into the back of the vacuum.

How It Cleans
The Electrolux Ergorapido lithium ion plus vacuum uses a motorized brushroll to clean the various floor types.
As a cordless vacuum, the Ergorapido is able to continuously vacuum without having to be re-plugged in at different outlets.
Corded vacuums typically don’t have enough length in their cord to cover an entire house, whereas cordless vacuums, such as the Electrolux Ergorapido, can clean until the battery runs out of charge.
Additionally, you have the ability to clean with just the handheld portion of the vacuum. Simply pop it out of the stick and get to work.

Size & Dimensions
The Electrolux Ergorapido lithium ion vacuum stands at 42.5″ (approximately 3.5′) tall and contains a low profile head, meaning it is capable of driving under low lying objects, such as beds, tables, and some dressers.
In addition, this vacuum cleaner weighs 5.5 pounds. Once again, it is light enough to pick up (for most people) and move around to the desired destination within your home.

Accessories & Parts
The Electrolux Ergorapido Lithium Ion vacuum cleaner includes the following parts and accessories:
- HEPA Filter
- Charging cable
- Crevice tool
- Dusting brush

The Electrolux ErgoRapido Ion is a 2-in-1 and operates as an upright vacuum or handheld vacuum.
The Electrolux vacuum includes a dusting brush, a HEPA filter, and a crevice tool, all of which make up the cleaning accessories. Over time, these parts will need to be replaced, but they are fairly inexpensive.
Cleaning Tests
The following vacuum cleaning tests are designed to show how the Electrolux ErgoRapido performs on a variety of surfaces picking up a variety of debris types. For these tests we look at hard floors, low carpets, and high carpets. For each floor surface type we test the vacuum cleaner against rice, dry cereal, kitty litter, and sugar.
Hardwood Floor
Each of the following substances was spread out evenly across our testing lane. After spreading out each debris type, we proceeded to complete the vacuum test. This test consisted of forward and backward passes through the debris.
To measure the amount of debris picked up by the vacuum, we first measure the dust bin before running the vacuum. Next, we vacuum up the mess and take a new measurement of the dust bin.
This new weight allows us to subtract the total weight from the weight of the empty dust bin and get the exact amount of debris picked up by the vacuum.
Bear in mind, some of the debris may have been picked up but did not make it all the way into the dust bin. For example, there may be pieces of debris stuck in the brushes or hoses leading to the dust bin.

Usability
Using this Electrolux vacuum is extremely easy. Once it is fully charged, the vacuum is able to run for about 21 minutes. Two buttons affixed to the top of the stick are used for turning the vacuum on / off and changing the degree of suction.
To breakaway the handheld section, simply press the release button and the top of the handheld will pop out. The stick is still able to stand upright while you’re using the handheld. Another power button is also located on the handheld, so you are able to turn it on and off apart from the stick.

Getting setup with the Electrolux Ergorapido vacuum is quite simple. Once you have removed the unit from its packaging, you can plug it into the power source and allow it to charge for at least 4 hours. Next up, begin vacuuming. There’s no intricate setup work that needs to be done whatsoever.
Maneuverability
As a lighter, thinner stick vacuum, the Electrolux Ergorapido is able to maneuver around sharp corners, chairs, and other hard to reach areas, with ease. This vacuum allows for a 180 degree swivel of its head, which creates this ease of maneuverability.
The size, shape, and weight combine to allow a great degree of both mobility and maneuverability.
Maintenance
The following table indicates the frequency at which you will likely want to replace the various maintenance components of the vacuum. The following replacement frequencies are what the manufacturer recommends. However, your individual experiences may vary.
Accessories / Parts | Replacement Frequency | Replacement Cost |
---|---|---|
HEPA filter | 3-6 months | Check Price |
Annual maintenance costs are $20-$40 / year, depending on how often you need to replace filters.
Aside from the HEPA filter, this unit does not require a lot of maintenance. The key factors to pay attention to are the rolling brush head and the wheels. Both of these areas have the chance to acquire hair and get tangled up. As long as you pay attention to these areas, the vacuum should continue to run well.
Noise
All vacuum cleaner reviews on Modern Castle are put through our standard noise test. For this test, we use a sound meter to measure noise in terms of decibel level 3′ away from the vacuum when it’s at full power.

At 3′-0″ away, the Electrolux Ergorapido Ion emits 74 dB of sound.
Battery
Inside of the Electrolux Ergorapido vacuum is a 10.8V lithium ion battery. Although this is at the lower end of the Ergorapido line, the battery is able to charge fully in about 4 hours and offers a run time up to 21 minutes.
As a smaller stick vacuum, this is quite impressive. Additionally, the handheld section of the vacuum is able to breakaway from the stick and still maintain the same amount of run time.
Charging this Electrolux is simple. Included with the vacuum is a small charging cable which plugs into the back of the unit. When charging, an orange light illuminates around the middle of the vacuum. Once the vacuum is fully charged, the light turns off.
Over the 2 year span of owning this vacuum, I have not noticed any depreciation with regards to run time. On a full charge, I am still getting about 21 minutes of use out of the Ergorapido.
